Let’s talk Google’s 2022 kid on the block – Pixel 7. The phone has everything you love including cutting-edge software, AI systems, cameras, and cut-down prices. Pixel 7 has incredible camera capabilities and great user experience, not forgetting its fit-for-the-money aspect. Just to mention, Google Pixel 7 is more than $100 cheaper and yet has better specs and features than its rivals from mega brands like Apple, Samsung, and others.
Looking at last year’s landmark Google Pixel 6, Pixel 7 feels more like an updated version with a little more hardware specs, opening an even bigger door for Google’s mobile devices. Everyone is loving its compact, unique design with a powerful camera. But there’s so much more to this so beloved smartphone that makes every tech-savvy buyer talk about it.
So, what’s all the hype about Google Pixel 7? Right away!
Google Pixel 7: Availability and pricing
On the bottom line, Google’s newest series is just a little different from the Pixel 6 series. Placing the phone on the grill, you’d find small but notable and important upgrades that are making it command more attention from the media and buyers across the globe. According to Bloomberg, the phone started selling in mid-October and is available in online mobile stores.
The phone is selling in about 17 markets with the United States leading in sales, a few European countries, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, and Singapore, among others. Flagship Pixel phones are also going to sell in India, as the market stretches farther into the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden.
Let’s first get this out of the way. We expected that such a powerful and rare phone’s prices would be off-the-roof. Luckily, Google’s latest Pixel series has proven better to some buyers compared to Apple and Samsung’s “Pro” and Ultra.” Moreover, it is priced way lower than the two phones, with a whopping $200 difference. While Apple and Samsung have their lowest price tags at $799, Google gives you a satisfying phone with a great user experience starting from $599.
Google Pixel 7: Design
Pixel 7 is a narrower, lighter version of its predecessor Pixel 6. The phone comes in the perfect balance between device and screen size. At its sides, the phone boasts brushed aluminum that gives it a premium look as well as a great grip. Like Apple’s iPhone14, Pixel 7 has a camera band at its back that’s beautifully blended into the aluminum sides. This is why you can never go without noticing it even in the presence of many phones.
The phone is just the best size for holding and pocketing. Its side aluminum will make it stick to your hands without the chance of slipping. Besides, the phone’s bezels are thinner than its sibling, improving its compatibility with both hands and pockets. Not only does the phone come in a beautiful design but also does away with some of the biggest problems that people faced with its previous iterations. The phone is proof that Google is making strides in its features over specs vision. It’s no doubt that so far, the mega-company has delivered.
Google Pixel7 : Display
Pixel 7 is a smaller phone with a 6.3-inch FHD + OLED, 90Hz, compared to Pixel 6 (6.4- inch display). However, this is only a 0.1 difference and if the phones aren’t placed together, it may go unnoticed. The phone sports a well-balanced screen size, with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 Pixels and 416 Pixels per inch. It has thinner bezels whose thickness slightly increases towards the bottom. (Every other manufacturer is looking for ways to come up with even bezel thickness).
Coming in different colors such as lemongrass green, obsidian black, and snow white among others, the phone is 0.3 inches thick, 6.1 inches long, and 2.9 inches wide.
With a color temperature of 6629 Kelvins, the phone comes with an excellent maximum brightness of 1400 nits, allowing you to use it very well when out in the sun. Its minimum brightness is friendly to your eyes when using it in the dark. Even better, the phone has an excellent night mode display. While Pixel 6’s peak brightness reached 1,100 nits, the difference between the two phones is very obvious when held side by side. Pixel 7’s brightness allows you to see the tiniest of content in your phone without straining your eyes on sunny days. The phone improves your visual abilities for long hours without any problems.
Google Pixel 7: Cameras
Not many Android manufacturers are able to produce such high-end cameras as Google’s with just all you need, especially for night photography. Pixel 7 has 3 cameras, one selfie camera, and 2 back cameras. The phone has a 50MP primary camera and a 12MP ultrawide.
Placing them side by side, Pixel 7 series is notably faster than Pixel 6 series, especially in night mode photography. This could be true to Google’s claims that the new iteration is 50% faster than its predecessor. The mega-company says that the new speed improvements are made without compromising quality. This, in turn, shows very high-quality photos captured full-screen at a few seconds faster than the Pixel 6 series.
With the new camera software, you have reserved control over night mode photography. The phone counts a few seconds at the bottom of the screen when taking photos at night, allowing you to take time and focus on the object you’re capturing. You’d need to wait for a few seconds after pressing the shutter icon before the object is fully and clearly captured. You have three options: no night mode, standard, and maximum night mode. No night mode allows you to capture the moment or a fast-moving object. The option is great even at night. The remaining two options will allow you to capture still objects that can give you all the time.
The cameras offer an ever-so-high image quality through the 2x cropped image mechanism with a 2x zoom.
Google Pixel 7: Tensor features
Powered by Tensor G2 introduced by Google last year, Pixel 7 comes with incredible features. The second-generation processor comes with accelerated AI abilities like speech recognition, audio translation to text, language translation, refining call quality by filtering background noise, and high-end video and photo processing features.
With the phone, you have a chance to stroll down the memory path by making your blurry photos appear new and clear. The phone can access your old photos saved on Google, and through the Unblur feature, you’re able to have your memories rekindled.
Google Pixel 7: Performance
While Tensor G2 doesn’t match with mainstream competition, the phone is doing what it’s meant to do excellently. With the G2 chip, Pixel 7 performs every function or role that its predecessor played but at an improved speed. The chip allows you to take best-shot cameras while enjoying exquisite features like sharper images, and improved AI abilities, with less power lag even when undertaking power-intensive activities.
Google Pixel 7: Battery
If Pixel 7 is smaller than its sibling, its battery is going to be smaller too, as batteries take the most volume in a phone. Pixel 7’s 4355mAh has a better battery life than Pixel 6 due to its very efficient processor and its smaller display. The phone can keep you running for a day of intensive activities and take days off the charger when light activities like calls, texts, etc are involved. The phone will also last a few hours in the plug.
What is the difference between Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro?
Google Pixel 7 pro has a bigger screen and display than Pixel 7, which translates to a bigger battery and telephoto camera. Pixel 7 pro is dedicated to 5x photos, giving even higher quality photos than Pixel 7’s 2x cropping. This means that Pixel 7 pro could bring to your attention more detail than Pixel 7 ever could. This includes lighting, reflections, graphics on walls and billboards, and so much more.
